Where the Sea

Our Story

A Century of Considered Hospitality

Built in 1924 by the Selene family, this clifftop residence was designed as a private retreat for those who sought beauty without spectacle. Today, we honour that legacy — each of our twelve suites is a study in restraint, the dining room earns its place among Italy's finest, and the terrace remains the finest seat above the sea.

We believe true luxury is unhurried. There are no conferences, no children's pools, no entertainment schedules — only the hush of morning light, the smell of woodfire from the kitchen, and staff who know your name before you arrive.

Clifftop Suites

Twelve individually appointed suites, each with a private terrace above the sea. Original stonework, linen-dressed beds, and handmade Vietri ceramics.

Michelin-Starred Dining

Ristorante Selene celebrates the Campania table — local catch, garden herbs, aged olive oil — guided by Chef Marco Russo, awarded one Michelin star since 2019.

Sea Grotto Spa

Carved into the living rock, the Grotta Azzurra spa offers volcanic stone therapies, salt scrubs, and hydrotherapy in natural sea-fed pools.

Private Boat Excursions

Our 1962 wooden gozzo takes you along the coast at your own pace — to hidden coves, Capri, and the sea caves below Positano, at any hour you choose.

What Our Guests Say

★ ★ ★ ★ ★
"There are hotels that impress, and there are hotels that genuinely move you. Selene Grand belongs to the second category. We arrived as guests and left as something else entirely."

Isabelle & François Moreau

"Chef Russo's kitchen alone is worth the flight. The octopus carpaccio may be the finest thing I have eaten anywhere in twenty years of travel."

James Whitfield

"The Grotto Spa is unlike anything we have experienced. The silence, the candlelight, the volcanic stone — it felt ancient and deeply restorative in equal measure."
